Office Land Surveyor Technician

The Survey Technician works with a team of engineers to assist in the preliminary and final engineering stages. Supports the Land Survey Department in development of survey plan documents for projects. Drafts survey maps, topographic maps, and plat and legal descriptions. Works with standard CAD specifications, dk standards, and requirements of government agencies.

Core Functions

Assists with boundary, topographic surveys, boundary surveys, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, and construction staking calculations.
Drafts digital files using the appropriate CAD software.
Updates drawings and CAD files as directed by project managers.
Shares lessons and skills learned with less-experienced staff.
Assists with calculations and staking plots.

Technical Responsibilities

Performs drafting for projects, including enlarging or reducing drawings to fit a specific scale.
Researches data at local, state and federal agencies to identify legal boundaries and property lines.
Creates exhibits and cutsheets for survey crew’s field staking.

Key skills/competencies

Strong technical abilities.
Strong organizational skills and time management.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Tools.

Education

Degree in Land Surveying or Geomatics.
Licensing and Certification: LSIT preferred

Office Land Surveyor

Manage surveyors on staking, boundary/topographic, and drone survey projects. Leads survey department in day to day operations of management and coordination.

Core Functions

Client acquisition, management, and coordination.
Prepares and processes lot line adjustments, parcel maps, final maps, condominium plans, boundary surveys, topographic surveys. Prepares plat maps and legal descriptions, and ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys.
Directs, controls, and supervises survey work and survey crews.
Signs contracts, maps and documents.
Interacts with clients, customers, officials, contractors, and others. Attends project meetings and public hearings as necessary for project approvals.
Represents the organization and maintains liaison with individuals and related organizations.
Mentors and shares lessons and skills learned with less-experienced staff.

Technical Responsibilities

Performs advisory work for the organization for broad program areas.

Key skills/competencies

Familiarity with 3D mapping.
Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Oversees both field and office standards and procedures.
Supervises Survey Department daily tasks and responsibilities.

Work Experience: 8+ Years or Bachelor’s Degree in Surveying plus 4+ Years

Engineer

Entry level Engineer position which is non-managerial and receives close supervision on all aspects of assignments.

We have an immediate opening for a full-time Entry Level Civil Engineer with strong technical ability to assist with many aspects of design in land development and municipal civil engineering.

The successful candidate will apply engineering principles including critical thinking, analysis, and technical knowledge to solve design problems and develop knowledge of general design standards and agency requirements for plan preparation.

Projects will include:

The design of residential subdivisions, shopping centers, apartment complexes, and similar large developments.
The associated tasks will include the design of mass grading, fine grading, streets, sewers, storm drains.
Calculations for hydrology & hydraulics.
Earthwork quantities and quantity estimates.
The drawing of exhibits, cross-sections, and profiles.
Preparation of technical memoranda and reports.
Performing data entry and analysis.
Verifying all completed work complies with applicable codes, drawings, and specifications.
Submitting and processing plans for approval through the various agencies having jurisdiction over the project.
Coordinating with clients, agencies, and other consultants to process the project plans for approval.

Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering, be familiar with AutoDesk AutoCAD and Civil 3D software, and preferably have 0-2 years of working experience in the field of civil engineering.

Non-managerial Engineer position which assigns tasks to and coordinates with technicians or administrative staff, and receives close supervision on unusual or difficult problems and general review of all aspects of work. Interacts with staff, general public, officials, contractors, and others.
