His multifaceted responsibilities include contract negotiation, boundary resolution, map preparation, and meticulous supervision of construction staking. Dan’s proficiency extends beyond traditional surveying; his keen insights into construction practices enrich our engineering endeavors, fostering comprehensive project management solutions.

Dan utilizes both plane and geodetic surveying techniques, underscored by an understanding of surveying equipment, infrastructure mapping, and cutting-edge technologies. Stacey is a highly accomplished Civil Engineering professional and has been an integral part of dk Engineering since 2005. Holding a civil engineering degree from UC Davis, she has become a pivotal figure within the company. Her specialization extends across a diverse range of projects, including wind farms, solar farms, battery energy storage systems, residential developments, and senior living facilities. Stacey is a licensed civil engineer in multiple states including California, Arizona, Texas, Wyoming, Oklahoma, Montana, Colorado, and New Mexico.

In her dynamic role as Project Manager, Stacey not only oversees a dedicated design team but also spearheads seamless coordination with clients and various project team consultants. Her multifaceted responsibilities include site design, roadway layout, underground utility design, stormwater control analysis, hydrology and hydraulic studies, survey documents, and the meticulous preparation of stormwater pollution prevention plans. Holding the certification of QSD/QSP, she is qualified to prepare stormwater pollution prevention plans in accordance with the California Construction General Permit. She has extended her expertise to offer plan review services for various municipal agencies.

Stacey is distinguished by her involvement in design development, from initial planning stages to final design, culminating in the preparation of as-built record drawings. She has played a pivotal role in numerous land planning projects. Her contributions range from preparing tentative maps and exhibits to crafting stormwater control plans, complete with exhibits and calculations demonstrating compliance with the Regional Water Quality Control Board’s requirements.

A natural multi-tasker and a passionate problem-solver, Stacey takes immense pride in her collaborative efforts on dk’s renewable energy projects and their enduring positive impact on the environment. Angela Pedroncelli is a Civil Engineer with a wealth of expertise spanning over eight years in the dynamic field of land development. Her proficiency lies in seamlessly integrating project management and design skills to navigate development initiatives, overseeing them from entitlement to construction document approval. Angela boasts a robust portfolio, having contributed her expertise to an array of residential subdivisions, townhomes, and apartment complexes scattered across Northern California.

As a registered Civil Engineer in the State of California, Angela has honed her skills in site planning, street design, underground utility systems, and grading design, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of the intricacies involved in bringing development projects to fruition. Angela earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Davis.

Ben McVeigh has almost forty years of extensive experience in civil engineering, predominantly specializing in residential and commercial land development. Throughout his career, Ben has overseen all facets of design, processing, and coordination for a multitude of construction endeavors. These projects span a diverse range, encompassing high-end single-family residences, industrial parks, collegiate facilities, retail hubs, multi-unit dwellings, parking infrastructure, and residential subdivisions varying in scale from modest two-lot parcels to expansive, phased developments comprising several thousand lots.

Ben’s tenure as an in-house engineer for a regional land development and homebuilding company spanning 15 years affords dk Engineering’s clientele a distinct advantage. His firsthand experience representing the developer’s interests has endowed him with invaluable insights into the engineering lifecycle from the client’s perspective. This insight equips him to anticipate and address the evolving needs and expectations of clients at every stage of project development. He is cognizant of the delicate equilibrium between cost containment and delivering a superior product that meets home-buyers’ expectations.

Beyond his professional pursuits in subdivision design, Ben nurtures a diverse array of personal interests, including baking, vegetable cultivation, exploring artisanal cheeses, home enhancement endeavors, and studying historical engineering techniques.

Andrew, a civil engineering graduate from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, has been with dk Engineering since 2018. Proficient in hydrology programs and AutoCAD Civil 3D, Andrew brings technical acumen to the team, ensuring precision and creativity in every endeavor.

In his role, David oversees the surveying and design aspects of diverse projects, demonstrating proficiency in producing grading and improvement plans, final maps, parcel maps, and tentative maps. His broad skill set includes expertise in surveying, construction staking, plats and legal descriptions, topographic surveys, ALTA surveys, and comprehensive office support.

A true master craftsman, David seamlessly combines his passion for home improvement with his professional skills. His remarkable home renovation project, which more than doubled the square footage of his house, stands as a testament to his exceptional craftsmanship. Within the dk Engineering office, he has contributed a unique touch by building an island cabinet for the copy area. Colleagues recognize David as the go-to person for home improvement advice, and he generously shares his tools and knowledge with enthusiasm.

Matthew, a dedicated professional in the engineering industry, graduated from San Francisco State University in 1995 and joined dk Engineering in 1999. His tenure at dk Engineering has been characterized by diligence, amiability, and a collaborative spirit, allowing him to grow across multiple departments during his 25+ years with the company.

Matthew’s journey at dk Engineering began in the Administrative Department, where he managed prints and deliveries before transitioning to become a CADD Draftsperson in the Survey Department after acquiring proficiency in AutoCad. Currently serving as a Senior Survey Technician, Matthew oversees survey crews, conducts construction calculations, and prepares final maps, parcel maps, topographic surveys, condo plans, plats, and legal descriptions with meticulous attention to detail and commitment to excellence.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Matthew is deeply rooted in the vibrant Bay Area community as a fourth-generation resident. In his leisure time, he enjoys exploring local beaches and embarking on enriching family trips. A devoted supporter of the Oakland A’s, Matthew, along with his wife and two daughters, finds joy in attending games and rallying behind their beloved team.

Taylor graduated from Humboldt State University with a Bachelor of Science in Forest Conservation. He started surveying retracing property lines for a timber company in Northern California. Prior to joining dk Engineering, he worked for a small surveying firm in Napa, involved with construction staking, winery & wine cave expansions, boundary surveys, GPS surveys, fire rebuilds and drafting in the office. He recently joined the dk Engineering team as a Survey Technician involved in topographic surveys, boundary surveys and ALTA surveys for a variety of wind farms, solar farms and battery storage facilities. When not working, Taylor enjoys trail running, weight lifting, hiking with his wife & dog and spending time with his parents.

Michael Baltazar holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Management with a focus on Civil Engineering from the University of the Pacific. His professional journey has been deeply rooted in the field of Land Surveying. Prior to his tenure at dk Engineering, he honed his skills at the Survey Department of Central Contra Costa Sanitary District, where he specialized in construction staking and traverse surveys for wastewater collection systems.

Currently serving as a Survey Technician II at dk Engineering, Michael’s responsibilities encompass a broad spectrum of surveying tasks. He is actively engaged in conducting topographic, boundary, and ALTA surveys, as well as overseeing improvement plans and 3D processing of drone data across diverse projects including solar farms, wind farms, battery storage facilities, residential developments, and municipal infrastructure enhancements. Additionally, he contributes to the preparation of parcel maps and record of surveys for various public agencies.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Michael finds joy in pursuits such as archery, reading, cooking, playing mahjong, and immersing himself in various concerts and comic conventions.

Scott has over 24 years of experience in the surveying and engineering fields and over 29 years combined experience in the construction fields. During his 20+ year tenure at dk Engineering, Scott has worked on multiple alternative energy projects throughout California, Oregon, Arizona as well as residential subdivisions and commercial projects. He began his career working for a General Contractor and as a licensed appliance repairman providing him a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical engineering. Before he joined dk Engineering, Scott worked as a Surveyor on various surveying/engineering projects, including the Napa River Flood Control Project and various wetlands restoration projects in the Delta, and a Geodetic control project for Oregon DOT on a bridge upgrade project.

Scott is an FAA licensed drone pilot which offers the opportunity to provide access to aerial survey data that can be collected faster and more safely than ever before. He has experience with both fixed wing and rotor aircraft, certified by Topcon in the use of the Falcon8 and Sirius Pro airframes and has extensive knowledge of all DJI drone platforms. His expertise in drone technology provides our engineers and clients with accurate, real time data when decisions or modifications need to be made as well as use for calculating extractions and fill in volumes.

Scott’s common sense approach in the field helps to assure a high level of quality control through the design/construction process. Scott specializes in the use of GPS positioning, static post-processing, OPUS State Plane Coordinates, and Geodetic control to aid in the process of data collection.

Aside from being a Surveyor, Scott enjoys cooking, hunting, fishing, off-roading, hiking, photography, fast cars and motorcycles, and above all being a husband and father.

As a Bay Area native, Kevin is always happy to be involved with survey projects that improve the community and further develop the area. Kevin has over 38 years of surveying experience and has been with dk Engineering since 1989. He is a Survey Party Chief for a majority of dk Engineering’s surveying projects in California and Arizona. He is proficient at gathering data and performing complex survey calculations for many types of surveys including grading, topographic, boundary, and control surveys for residential, commercial, public works, and alternative energy (wind, solar, & battery energy storage) projects. In addition, he is currently working on drone mapping, scanning and photogrammetry.

When Kevin isn’t working, he loves spending time with his wife, son and dog. His passion for his work inspired his son Brian to also work in land surveying. Kevin is very active and enjoys watching and playing all sports, but especially softball. He loves hiking, biking and anything else that requires him to be outdoors, which is one of the reasons he considers surveying to be the perfect job.

Alek is an experienced professional in the field of land surveying since 2003. Rejoining dk Engineering in 2023, Alek returns with a wealth of experience acquired during his time away from our firm. Passionate about the great outdoors and driven by a thirst for knowledge, Alek thrives in the role of Survey Party Chief.

His expertise spans a diverse array of survey types, from determining property lines, boundaries, easements, and right-of-way in land surveys to mapping existing improvements and topographic features in topographic surveys. His skill set extends to construction surveys, elevation benchmark establishment, and street centerline monumentation. He proficiently operates and maintains survey equipment, including total stations, GPS, and data collectors, ensuring seamless and accurate data collection. He meticulously conducts field calculations, verifying survey data for precision and completeness.

Alek works closely with dk project managers, engineers, and fellow team members on projects like residential subdivisions, multi-family condo projects, and the development of solar farms.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Alek has a diverse range of interests. Whether it’s immersing himself in captivating movies and documentaries or engaging in tabletop gaming sessions, Alek values his leisure time as much as his dedication to his work.

Monica, a dedicated team member with over two decades of experience, has been an integral part of dk Engineering for 17 years. In her role as Controller, she’s known for her thoughtful financial leadership, handling budget and cash flow analysis, financial controls, and human resource compliance. Beyond her work, Monica actively contributes to creating a positive work culture at dk, supporting community programs, and emphasizing work-life balance—a reflection of dk’s values. Her diverse background in corporate finance, medical billing, and business ownership showcases her adaptability and understanding of financial intricacies. As an Executive Administrator, Millie plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth functioning of dk Engineering’s daily operations. Millie provides comprehensive administrative support to senior executives, manages office operations, coordinates events, and facilitates communication and document management. In addition, her other tasks and responsibilities include IT (maintaining the computer workstations/network servers), Marketing (website/brand management and social media), and any other special projects or submittals to support the Accounting Department and staff as a whole. Her wealth of experience, coupled with her ability to adapt to evolving challenges, makes her an indispensable asset to the team.

Beyond her professional achievements, Millie finds fulfillment in her family life, spending time with her husband, three boys, and White German Shepherd.

Juan joined dk Engineering in 2015 and is responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of the office building and grounds. His meticulous oversight ensures that all systems operate smoothly and comply with health, safety, and regulatory standards. Juan conducts regular inspections to promptly address any issues that arise, demonstrating his proactive approach to facility management.

In his role, Juan efficiently handles tenant requests, promptly troubleshooting and repairing any malfunctions. He collaborates with external vendors, such as janitorial and landscaping companies, to maintain cleanliness and aesthetics. Additionally, Juan coordinates with professionals in various fields, including plumbing, HVAC, and painting, to execute repairs and improvements as needed.

With a background as a mechanic engineer at Bally’s Fitness and experience in agriculture and landscaping, Juan brings a wealth of technical expertise to his role.
