It’s evident that Millie’s roots in dk Engineering run deep, with both her parents contributing significantly to the company’s legacy. She has fond childhood memories at the original office location visiting her father, dk’s first employee. She received guidance and training from her mother that undoubtedly shaped her professional path and work ethic. Returning to dk after completing her education at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, Millie seamlessly transitioned into various roles over her 29 year tenure, demonstrating her versatility and capability to excel across multiple disciplines.

As an Executive Administrator, Millie plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth functioning of dk Engineering’s daily operations. Millie provides comprehensive administrative support to senior executives, manages office operations, coordinates events, and facilitates communication and document management. In addition, her other tasks and responsibilities include IT (maintaining the computer workstations/network servers), Marketing (website/brand management and social media), and any other special projects or submittals to support the Accounting Department and staff as a whole. Her wealth of experience, coupled with her ability to adapt to evolving challenges, makes her an indispensable asset to the team.

Beyond her professional achievements, Millie finds fulfillment in her family life, spending time with her husband, three boys, and White German Shepherd.

Working at dk feels like having a second family. I joined dk 17 years ago, and many of my colleagues have been here as long or longer. At dk we have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, which keeps my job interesting. On any day, I work on a subdivision, senior housing, or one of our wind and solar farm projects. Our renewable energy projects are especially fulfilling knowing that we are helping the environment.

Having worked for dk years for 19 years, one of the greatest benefits that I never expected is its family atmosphere. Equally important to me is the quality of the work and experiences within the company. I have been lucky to be involved on some very large and very remote job sites, which can be challenging and rewarding when we overcome logistical issues. When I tell people that I fly a drone as part of my job, folks are often very interested, especially young kids. It’s very cool to know we are part of a cutting-edge team.
