Developer: Western Pacific Housing
Hercules Village is a community designed consistent with the City of Hercules community’s vision of New Urbanism and Smart Growth, with a pedestrian–oriented network of walkable streets, and various types of residential and commercial areas. The Bixby Company and Western Pacific Housing developed initial phases.
The heart of the project consists of a Historic Town Center, which preserves several historic buildings from the old Hercules Powder Plant as the cornerstone of the development. Within the Historic Town Center are proposed commercial buildings, restaurants, and an Amtrak station for commuters along the Capitol Corridor. Surrounding the Historic Town Center is a neo-traditional community of single-family residences with garage fronts located off of alleys. The house styles are reminiscent of California’s rich history and traditions.
