Client: Contra Costa Jewish Day School
Funded completely by private investors and donations, this project created a new home for the Contra Costa Jewish Day School. Located on the same property as the Temple Isaiah, off of Risa Road in the City of Lafayette, the new building incorporated various stormwater measures.
dk Engineering provided engineering, surveying, and construction support services for this project. To help promote clean water measures, dk was the motivating factor in the construction of two pervious asphalt parking lots (pictured right). With the necessary grading involved for one of the parking lots, permitting through California Department of Fish and Game was required. dk was the main contact for this permitting process. Extensive site work included complex utility design for water and sewer connections to existing systems. Site work included the design of new parking lots and perimeter walkways and patios. This site work required thoughtful design, as the existing surrounding grading had extreme grade changes due to the site location.
