Ryan McGhehey is a dedicated Engineer-in-Training specializing in land development and water resources. He holds a Master’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of California, Davis, and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Loyola Marymount University. At dk Engineering, Ryan works on site grading, drainage analysis, stormwater planning, and the preparation of construction documents for commercial, industrial, and residential projects.
He has conducted hydraulic impact analyses, regulatory compliance reviews, and flood control inspections. Ryan also performs point classifications, transforming photogrammetric and LiDAR point clouds into usable datasets by removing noise and classifying features such as ground, vegetation, transmission lines, and wires. His technical proficiency in Civil3D, StormCAD, ArcGIS Pro, and Terrasolid complements his detail-oriented approach to design.
Ryan’s ability to manage multiple projects while coordinating with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies has strengthened his problem-solving skills and deepened his expertise in both land development and water resource management.
He enjoys staying active through running, hiking, and weight lifting, and he balances that with creative downtime building Legos and watching movies like Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and Marvel films. He loves spending time outdoors and traveling, and values quality time with family and friends to help him recharge.
