The Byron Park Expansion is a new memory care building that will be part of an existing senior housing facility in the City of Walnut Creek. The 1.7 acre project is located on 1720 Tice Valley Boulevard near the Contra Costa County boundary. The new building will include a parking garage, residential units, a courtyard, common areas, and a kitchen. The site is located in a hillside area, which results in extensive grading and retaining walls.
dk Engineering is serving as the civil engineer and surveyor during the planning, design, and construction phases. The civil design included topographic survey, grading, stormwater control, demolition, tree protection, utility design, hydrology and hydraulics analysis, erosion control, SWPPP preparation, signing and striping, and frontage improvements. dk Engineering is also providing project management and extensive coordination with the architect, contractor and design team, as well as the local agencies including the City of Walnut Creek, Contra Costa County, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District, EBMUD, and Central Contra Costa Sanitary District.
